  • Basic mechanical and electronic skills

  • Microsoft Excel and Word software

  • Hardware AND Software skills needed for this role

Job Summary:

As the Equipment & Staff Tracking Software Technician you are responsible for the overall program management of all modules of the Equipment & Staff Tracking software system. You will be responsible for the timely response to all temperature, humidity, battery status alerts, staff name assignment to staff tracking badges, and HUGS Infant Security tags. Knowledge of manufacture of software platforms for all tags/badges.


You Will Be Responsible For:

Configure and assign and program tracking tags/badges to staff and medical equipment.

Configure and assign and program temperature and humidity sensing tags/badges to medical equipment

Configure and assign and program infant security tags/badges

Run daily audits of all badges

Troubleshoot all tag/badge alerts and correct or facilitate correction of deficiencies

Replace batteries before they go dead by using battery reports

Run reports as requested by departments

Train hospital staff in how to use software to located equipment and track assigned staff

Create, Produce and read Equipment & Staff Tracking reports and resolve deficiencies

Analyze trends for any devices creating alarms to determine/troubleshoot root cause(s) and corrections

Triage maintenance calls as received

Assist with locating tagged items

Adjust all critical refrigeration and warming units to keep temperature within correct range

Validate that Equipment & Staff Tracking tags are communicating with nurse call Responder 5 system, Getwell and Cerner Room Link applications to ensure proper configuration and functionality of staff tags.

Physically test the functionality of newly configured staff tags before deployment

Initiate new employee Equipment & Staff Tracking tag paperwork and forward to HR for processing

Conduct Preventive Maintenance of entire local Equipment & Staff Tracking System

Place requisitions for parts & equipment as needed

Performs other duties as assigned
