Schedule: Full Time, Nights; Monday - Friday (5:30p - 2:00am)

Location: AdventHealth GlenOaks

The role you’ll contribute:

Coordinates clerical functions on the unit. Responsible for assisting in the observation of the telemetry monitors and reporting any changes or arrhythmias to the Critical Care Nurses. Works under supervision in a controlled patient care area and performs a variety of established and accepted functions including assisting the patient care staff at bedside with non-nursing tasks as assigned.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Observes monitors closely, informs RN of changes and records changes as they occur.

  • Posts, analyzes, and documents strips every 4 hours and as needed.

  • Uses pager system and nurse call system competently.

  • Keeps patient log up to date including admissions, transfers, non-telemetry, discharge and vacant bed status.

  • Acts effectively as unit coordinator, answering the telephone with approved scripting, directing all incoming calls efficiently, receiving and directing visitors, documenting according to policy and maintaining all logs.

  • Assist charge and staff RNs with transfers.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • CPR certification required

  • State Certified Nursing Assistant License within three months of employment.

  • Must pass hospital EKG proficiency exam

  • Ability to work well as a team member

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing

  • Individuals must possess these knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and to demonstrate that s/he can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. Basic computer skills and literacy

  • Ability to use machines, tools, equipment and work aids as necessary to perform job duties.
