AdventHealth VP System Centralized Business Office in Maitland, Florida

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Vice President, System Centralized Business Office (CBO) position located in Maitland, Florida.


Reporting to SVP Revenue Management, the Vice President System CBO has responsibility and accountability for providing the leadership necessary to set and support execution of the strategic direction and success of the organization’s hospital denials management, early out, customer service, hospital billing, and A/R management functions in alignment with AdventHealth’s mission. The VP System CBO will have experience working in a large complex, matrix organization. Responsibilities of this role include working with peers and Division Revenue Cycle Officers as well as Divisional CFOs to influence execution of the above stated back-office revenue cycle operations. This individual will have proven executive leadership experience and a demonstrated track record of leading a large peer system with responsibilities and oversight of high-volume revenue transactional work and revenue improvement results. Additionally, the ability to have a significant impact on moving the organization and improving operations to a leading practice organization will be critical to this role. This role is suitable for a strong strategic visionary thinker and driver who can see the big picture, provide tactical support to implementation, and recognize and manage the change. The VP System CBO is also responsible for achieving performance on organizational assigned goals, metrics and KPIs related to above stated CBO functions.


  • Oversees denials management, early out, and customer service (SBO), and work with Regional CBO leads for billing, and accounts receivables (A/R) management functional areas across all acute care settings

  • Ensures alignment of individual functional areas with the broader Revenue Cycle and enterprise strategic objectives and goals to include physician enterprise, Consumer Access and CxC, and middle revenue cycle policies and procedures

  • Oversees standardization, accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of each back office functional area to align with identified best practice standards

  • Works with compliance officers, ensuring that the system CBO is compliant with all state and federal regulations, including but not limited to 501r, HIPAA, and collection laws

  • Follows, shares, and incorporates back-office revenue cycle market innovation and trends in alignment with leading revenue cycle practices

  • Provides insights at a global and payer level around financial and operational performance outcomes to achieve back-office revenue cycle goals and objectives

  • Supports functional leadership team to execute on Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal and external stakeholders and to develop and reinforce training/ process improvement standards

  • Influences change in a matrix-management environment to achieve department goals in collaboration with Division Revenue Cycle Officers (RCO) and Division CFO’s

  • Develops and maintains collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including (but not limited to) Cash Posting, Cash Reconciliation, Finance, Managed Care, Accounting to ensure the alignment of performance goals and how those influence bad debt and administrative write-offs.

  • Provides guidance and support to functional leadership responsible for personnel management, establishing and executing corporate policies, goals & objectives, and establishing departmental administrative decisions and budget

  • Member of the Corporate Revenue Cycle (RC) Cabinet, and participates in monthly meetings with the Divisional CFOs to evaluate revenue cycle performance and drive improvements

  • Recommend strategic and policy changes to RC Cabinet for ultimate submission and approval by Corporate Revenue Management Council

  • Works with SVP of Revenue Management to complete various financial forecasts, month-end financial reporting, receivable performance, short-term and long-range strategic planning

  • Works with the Performance Improvement and Business Support leadership team to ensure the performance of a virtual workforce and manage vendors for outsourced functions



  • Strong working knowledge of industry best practices and related technology in the areas of early out, customer service, denials, billing, A/R management

  • Purposeful and results oriented

  • Broad understanding and experience within hospital and physician operations in an integrated health system.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to organize, develop, manage, and motivate a responsive team

  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, administrative, and time management skills

  • Strong focus on accuracy with attention to details

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, Outlook)


  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or related field

  • 10 years of healthcare revenue cycle experience

  • HFMA membership

Education, Licensure, Experience Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in finance, business, or health administration

  • 8+ years of progressive experience leading PFS in a hospital or physician environment

  • Working knowledge of analytic tools such as Qlikview, PowerBI, or other similar tools

  • Robotic Processing Automation working knowledge and skills
