The role you’ll contribute:
The Arrhythmia Clinic Technician is responsible for the monitoring and evaluation of cardiac rhythms and rhythm EKG analysis of transmitted strips from outside monitoring companies as well as in office placed Holter monitors. The ACT retrieves, evaluates and triages the information, prepares a full disclosure report for entry into the EMR once the physician evaluates and approves. Determines when an adequate test has been obtained and consults supervisor or cardiologist as needed based on Electrophysiology notification protocols in place for all monitors. Monitoring duties also include scheduling patients, assuring proper charging of tests with a payable diagnosis, proper sanitization, and maintenance of equipment.

Screens, communicates and respond to patient needs timely and appropriately. Instruct patients and their families of anticipated or completed procedures, appropriate follow up and use of any home monitoring equipment.
Understands and uses all types of home monitoring equipment including 24- or 72-hour monitoring and short- and long-term event recorders. Insures all monitors are sanitized and in working order prior to placing on patient.
Accepts urgent calls from outside monitoring companies and addresses any urgent issues with triaging the patient directly and providing the physician current vitals, medication list, & activity verification during the recording period. Accurate documentation in EMR and notify physician per notification protocol.
As monitoring enrollment period ends: organizes and sorts reports then logs chart out to physician for dictation. Assists other departments with any missing or needed reports for patient appointments with physicians.
In office Holter monitor data must be scanned in approved system for all AHMG Cardiology locations within 48-72 hours of return of monitor. Responsible for preparing a full disclosure report after reviewing for accuracy and routes to ordering physician for approval and signature. All patient reports with negative findings must be triaged to include current vitals, medication list, & activity verification. All negative findings that reach notification protocol level must be documented in EMR and communicated to the physician per notification protocol.
