You Will Be Responsible For:

The Clinical Analyst I applies their experience in delivering clinical care and working knowledge of the electronic medical record (EMR) to the development and maintenance of analytics products supporting the organization in data-driven decision making. They strive to generate insights through the retrieval, organization, validation, and presentation of data that continually improves outcomes, reduces costs, increases efficiency and enhances patients' experiences. Because of their clinical background, they also serve as a key resource for non-clinical team members in understanding clinical processes. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.


What You Will Need:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Information Systems or related health field(s)

  • 1 year of clinical experience, AND

  • 2 years of experience in a related healthcare, analytics, or quality position


  • 2 years of clinical experience, with at least 1 year in an acute care setting


  • Valid State of Florida License in one of the following: RN/BSN, LPN, EMT, Paramedic, RT A


  • Proficient computer skills, particularly Intranet Website Software, Business Objects/Web intelligence, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other programs necessary for accurate data analysis

  • Current knowledge of the National Hospital Quality Measures, CMS healthcare penalty programs, and other regulatory requirements

  • Strong organizational skills with close attention to detail

  • Ability to communicate clearly, coordinate and work effectively with teams, including the ability to tailor messages to individuals and audiences throughout the institution with differing knowledge levels

  • Demonstrates independent decision making and problem-resolution skills

  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives to achieve organizational goals

  • Knowledge of clinical care methods & procedures/processes

  • Ability to work as a team player

  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience, Cerner preferred

  • Experience using data visualization and statistical tools (Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, Minitab, R Studio, etc.)

  • Thorough knowledge of information systems and their application to organizational analytics needs and ability to creatively use existing resources for problem resolution

Job Summary:

  • Serves as an educational resource on clinical processes for other members of the analytics team

  • Develops and maintains positive customer relationships with ability to facilitate communication aimed at understanding business needs and translating to technical requirements

  • Responsible for the retrieval, organization, validation, and delivery of data to support clinical areas, initiatives, and quality improvement activities

  • Compiles results into appropriate reporting format and/or meaningful presentation, presenting results as requested including explanation of statistical test results

  • Perform EHR Chart Review for discrete field research and data validation

  • Researches data element definitions for the best and most appropriate data extraction sources and methodologies

  • Perform EHR Chart Review for discrete field research and data validation

  • Interacts regularly with leadership and quality personnel (including ancillary, safety, acute care, and integrated health services) to facilitate discussions of existing data products while assessing unmet analytic needs and potential enhancements.

  • Analyzes data to identify areas for improvement and provide meaningful data-driven insights and recommendations to leadership.
