Work Hours/Shift: Full Time

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Analyze, compile, and review spatial data from public and proprietary sources.

  • Perform specific GIS tasks under supervision, developing familiarity with projects and engineering/environmental design and operating procedures.

  • Create project GIS maps and exhibits.

  • Document project workflows, data sources, and data limitations.

  • Assist in the creation of advanced GIS products and data models.

  • Set up and configure appropriate tools for field data collection based on project needs.

  • Perform field data collection, data transfer, and postprocessing.

  • Compile technical project data from various sources, including field notes and engineering plans.

  • Scan, georeference and digitize hardcopy plans.

  • Assist in the development of GIS workflows, databases, and map products.

  • Assist in the creation and execution of automated GIS workflows in various development languages.

  • Follows safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.

  • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.

  • Use quantitative/qualitative methods and research instrumentation to analyze scientific quality data through GIS technology

  • Conduct state-of-the-art and high-inmpact, spatio-temporal health sciences analyses

  • Contribute to publications in various formats to include editing, conducting scholarly research, assisting in the preparation of presentations, and helping to formulate scholarly projects

  • Exhibit characteristics of a Christian professional

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Have to be CITI HIPAA trained (most be complete within a month of hiring date or before)

  • Experience with ArcGIS Desktop and extensions, ArcGIS Online, MS Office, 3D Design Software, and open source applications.

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in GIS and/or Geography (with emphasis on GIS), Information Technology (with emphasis on GIS), Public/population Health (with emphasis on GIS) or related field (with emphasis on GIS)

  • Or sufficient on-the-job training experience to succeed in high-impact, peer-review research environment

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:

  • Familiarity with relational databases and various programming languages (e.g. Python, R, SQL, XML, JavaScript).

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Provide Geographic Information Systems (GIS) support. Perform data acquisition, data management, data analysis and data visualization in support of projects. Determine appropriate data sources and methods, develop technical workflows and create technical maps, exhibits, and models to support project needs. Support data collection efforts by providing and configuring appropriate tools to meet accuracy and attribution criteria. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and currency of all geospatial project data and maintaining technical documentation and metadata, as appropriate. Ensure that all GIS deliverables meet a high level of quality and comply with corporate standards.
