Life Safety Technician – Life Safety – AdventHealth Orlando

Work Hours/Shift: Full Time, Days (Mon. - Fri. 8a - 5p)

You Will Be Responsible For:

Demonstrates, through behavior, AdventHealth Orlando’s service standards.

  • Completes all monthly fire extinguisher inspections.

  • Schedules yearly maintenance for fire extinguishers

  • Conducts fire drills.

  • Provides fire safety training and prevention.

  • Conducts elevator checks.

  • Conducts business occupancy AED inspections.

  • Completes all documentation and reports.

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

Required:

  • Able to communicate in English.

  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with a variety of agencies, organizations, and individuals.

  • Communication, delegation, coordination, evaluation, assessment and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient knowledge of safety, fire protection principals, practices, codes, standards and regulations.

  • Understanding of Fire Extinguisher Program Management, Administration, reporting and documentation.

  • Understanding of Elevator Checks and documentation.

  • Understanding of business occupancy AED’s, reporting and documentation

  • Familiarity with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and National Integrated Accreditation for Healthcare Organization Standards (NIAHO).

  • Demonstrate aptitude required to successfully administer fire drills and the fire extinguisher program management.

Preferred :

  • Working knowledge of survey process by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) that relate to Life Safety and Physical Environment.

  • High School Diploma or GED

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Safety Manager, the Life Safety Technician oversees monthly fire extinguisher inspections, schedules yearly fire extinguisher inspections, conducts fire drills and provides fire safety training and prevention, business occupancy AED inspections and elevator checks. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
