Work Hours/Shift:

PRN; day shift 8a-5:30p and call 5:30p-7a available during the week and weekends 9p-9a; holidays are on call only; 1-2 days per week availability minimum

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Demonstrates effective communication skills with all team members, patients and families.

  • Maintains satisfactory participation and attendance at required and non-required meetings and staff development programs.

  • Demonstrates evidence of continuous professional development:

  • Attends annual mandatory in-service, required meetings and continuing education

  • Promotes the Hospital image and maintains a helpful attitude towards employees, physicians, patients, visitors and the community to enhance the Hospital’s reputation.

  • Demonstrates evidence of adherence to the Hospital confidentiality policy.

  • Operates the MRI scanner and related equipment.

  • Assists other medical personnel as needed

  • Reviews with other medical personnel the preparation and procedures to be performed on patients.

  • Prepares exam room for patients and insures that needed supplies are at hand for each procedure.

  • Interacts with patients and family members with a high degree of responsiveness

  • Assists the patient in understanding the procedure.

  • Assists and monitors the patient in the scan room during the exam.

  • Films and reviews images with the Radiologists upon completion of the exam.

  • Performs profiles daily on the MRI scanner

  • Reports all equipment failure or problems to Director of Imaging Services.

  • Maintains equipment in a clean and orderly fashion.

  • Performs all QA activities as recommended by the Hospital and JCAHO.

  • Helps to maintain the MRI procedure manual.

  • Completes history form on each patient

  • Observes and insures safe practices for patients, visitors and personnel.

  • Attends staff, patient care and in-service meetings as requested in order to keep abreast of all Hospital and departmental changes.


What You Will Need:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.

  • Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology

  • Strongly Preferred: ARRT MR Registered

Job Summary:

The major function of the MRI Technologist is to perform Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures. Under the direction of the Radiologist, the MRI Technologist will perform a variety of highly technical procedures. The technologist will be responsible for designated procedures and equipment.
